Support the Sisters at St. Clare!
We have exciting news to share with our parish community! The General Superior of the Carmelite Missionary Sisters of St. Therese of the Child Jesus has granted permission to establish a third mission of Sisters in the Diocese of Phoenix at St. Clare of Assisi Parish. The Carmelite Missionary Sisters have a mission at St. Anne in Gilbert which was established in 2001. Subsequently, Fr. McGuire brought the community to St. Daniel the Prophet in Scottsdale in 2012 and has now invited their community to establish a mission at St. Clare of Assisi.
The Sisters joining our parish community are Sister Guadalupe Rodriguez Hernando and Sister Angeles Candia Huerta. Sister Guadalupe and Sister Angeles will be serving in a broad spectrum of ministerial capacities, including: catechesis, pastoral care, and liturgical assistance. Additionally, they will be an inspiration to our parish community in living witness to the fruitfulness of embracing the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
We anticipate that they will joyfully begin their ministry here at St. Clare on October 1st, 2026. Coincidentally, this is the feast of their patroness, St. Therese of the Child Jesus.

Help Furnish the Convent!
We need your help to furnish the convent for Sister Guadalupe and Sister Angeles! They are in need of a variety of home goods, including but not limited to: sheets, blankets, cleaning supplies, kitchen items, and more. We have created registries at Target and Amazon, which can be found by clicking the buttons below. Don’t wish to purchase from the registry or don’t have an Amazon account? We will be accepting gift cards, of any amount, to Target, Walmart, and Amazon in the parish office! Please let parish staff know that these gift cards are to be used for the Sisters.
Used Car Needed!
In order to faithfully and reliably serve our parish community, the Sisters are in need of a used car in good working condition. If you have a used car in good condition, or know of someone who has a used car in good condition, and are willing to donate it to the parish, please contact Shelley Barber at sbarber@stcpaz.org or (623) 975-5601.
