Welcome Home
Were you baptized Catholic and received the Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation, First Holy Eucharist) but have left the faith? Is the Holy Spirit calling you home?
Let us be the first to say: welcome home! Our Heavenly Father is reaching out to you, ready to welcome you back home. As the earthly Body of Christ, we have missed you and welcome you with open arms.
If you have questions about how to come back to the Catholic Church, please, keep reading.

There’s a saying that goes “Once a Catholic, always a Catholic.” Here are 5 reasons you should come home:
We hunger for meaning and purpose in our lives.
We need God’s forgiveness and healing for our sins and God’s mercy to help us become better people.
Our families need to be built on a strong foundation of faith and we need to live in community with others.
The Catholic Church has the Sacraments - and we especially long for the Eucharist!
Catholicism is TRUE!

We completely understand your hesitation. It can be challenging when we feel like our fellow Christians aren’t acting very Christian toward us or toward others. The Church is, indeed, made up of sinful, imperfect people who can disappoint us. Rather than distancing yourself from the Holy Eucharist and Christ’s church, cling to Jesus all the more, since He never disappoints us! Do not allow the actions of some to cause you to lose faith in the Church as a whole. Discuss your frustrations with a priest or deacon at your local parish, and start your journey back to a welcoming home. Above all, do not lose heart. People may disappoint, but God never leaves us, and He is always present in the Catholic Church he founded.

Recognize that your Heavenly Father yearns for you to come home to his Church. Then, go to Confession and consider discussing any concerns or questions you may have about returning home with our priests. Begin going to Mass again and experiencing Christ’s presence through worshipping in the liturgy. Know that you are not alone, and do not be afraid to find answers to your questions, both here and through our Catholic parish community.

Yes, of course! Please reach out to Nanci Lukasik-Smith and she will be able to talk with you about your questions.
